Life is full of firsts… first kiss, first real job, first house… Nobody ever talks about the less savory “firsts”, like the first time you get a speeding ticket, or the first time you lose your wallet. I wish they had, because maybe I would have been better prepared when I lost MY wallet a few weeks ago. I still can’t believe I lost it! I have never lost my wallet or even my keys for that matter. Never. I have been known to leave my wallet at home on the kitchen table when I go to the salon, but I have never actually lost it.
I have quickly discovered that the worst thing about losing my wallet is not the tiny bit of cash I lost or even the credit cards (those were all canceled immediately) – it is the huge hassle of replacing my green card. It turns out that in Texas it takes about 5 months to get a replacement card – yikes! So… not only am I $470 poorer ($370 for the replacement green card and $100 for the cute new wristlet to hold it), we have had to cancel the Caribbean cruise we were scheduled to go on with a bunch of friends in December :-(. The good news for others is that we now have a few last-minute openings in December – the weekends of Dec 6, Dec 13 and Dec 20. If anyone out there is doing some last-minute planning, we may be able to give you a sweet deal! Give us a call or drop us an email if you want to chat!
