Ho Ho Ho

After a 4-year hiatus from doing Santa photos Tanya and I were back at it this past Sunday. Our homeowners association hosts Santa every year and we volunteered to photograph him this year. I did Santa photos at Six Flags for 20 years, so this was definitely a different experience! In the common area of our subdivision there is what looks like a castle tower and that is where Santa lands his sleigh every year. It makes for an interesting background, but from 2 to 4 in the afternoon the lighting can be tricky. For those of you who live around DFW, you know it was INCREDIBLY windy Sunday so setting up our lights was out of the question. We used the flash we use at weddings so we could at least eliminate some of the shadows, but we could not prevent people from squinting. We photographed about 60 families and everyone got a 4×6 print. It was a lot of fun and we hope everyone remembered to tell Santa what they want for Christmas!
