FAQ

Why should I hire a Professional Photographer?
With digital cameras getting better every day, we know you have an aunt or a friend who owns a good camera and feels they can do the job. Unfortunately, there is more to photographing a wedding than being able to take a cute snapshot. As Professional Photographers with over 20 years of experience (what can I say, we started young :), we are specially trained in lighting, composition and equipment use so we can deal with a wide variety of situations and challenges. We use top of the line equipment and professional labs, and we always have a backup handy should anything go wrong. This is the most important day in your life and your images are one of the few things you will have to pass down to future generations. When it comes to your wedding images, you will always get what you pay for.

Do you do Destination Weddings?
Absolutely! We have a great deal of experience in traveling with equipment and working on location. Please call us for details and rates.

How far in advance should we reserve our Wedding Date with you?
We limit our commissions to 20 weddings per year so we suggest booking as early as possible. We will accept bookings up to 1 1/2 years in advance.

What do you need to reserve my date?
Upon signing a contract, we require a non-refundable deposit of $1000 to secure your date. After your deposit you will have 3 additional payments, with your final payment due 30 days before your wedding day.

What type of payment do you accept?
We take cash, checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Diner’s Club.

When will I be able to view my images?
Your Wedding Images are typically available for viewing 6-8 weeks after your wedding day.

Who should attend the Album Design session?
Your Album Design session is where you will be choosing the images for your Wedding Album as well as Parent’s albums, so it is crucial that all decision makers be present. Along with the Bride & Groom, it is common for parents to attend the session. A typical session takes roughly 2-4 hours. Please arrange for a sitter for small children.

When should I book my other Portrait Sessions (like our Engagements Session)?
In general it depends on which products you would like:

  • Engagement Sessions – Aside from enlargements and gifts prints, most couples like to get Save the Date announcements and a Guest Signature Book, so the earlier you book your engagement session the better (roughly 4 to 6 months before your wedding date – even earlier if you are doing Save the Dates). On the other hand, we have done engagement sessions as little as 2 weeks before the wedding, so it really depends on your schedule and the products you are interested in.
  • Bridal Sessions – most brides try to keep their dress a secret, so you can schedule your Bridal Session a month or two before your wedding date and you will have plenty of time to order most products. We have also done Bridal Sessions just a few days before the wedding, and have even done a few sessions after the wedding.
  • Boudoir Sessions – If you would like your Little Black Book as a gift to give on your wedding day, you will need to schedule you session at least 6 weeks before your wedding day. Your images will be available for viewing within a week, but books can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to produce. Again, the earlier you schedule your session, the better.
  • Trash the Dress, Day After, and After the Honeymoon Sessions – If you are having a Destination Wedding and you want to combine these sessions, we will schedule your Trash the Dress and Day After Session for the day after you wedding. If you prefer to do your sessions somewhere else, we can schedule them anytime that works for you (after your wedding day, of course!)

What should we wear for our Portrait Sessions?
When we book your session, we will give you some wardrobe suggestions based on the type of session and time of year. Regardless what type of session you are scheduling, the most important thing is that you are comfortable and enjoy your session!
