Last fall we got to travel to one of our favorite places to shoot weddings – New Orleans! Bill and Angelica live in the Dallas area but share a deep love for New Orleans, so when they started planning their dream wedding it only made sense that they plan a destination wedding in their dream location – St Louis Cathedral on Jackson Square!  They worked hard to make sure all of the guests received a true feel for the city – from traditional Second Line walk through the French Quarter to the King’s cake at the reception,  they did it all.

You may have already seen Angelica and her sisters on our blog a couple of months ago and you can read a lot more about Bill & Angelica’s wedding in the current Star-Telegram Bridal Section (we’re anxiously awaiting the online version to go live!(

Host hotel – The Bourbon Orleans
Ceremony Venue – St Louis Cathedral
Second Line band – Treme Brass Band
Hair & Makeup – Angelica’s amazing sister, Bianca
Reception Venue – Audubon Zoo, Louisiana Swamp
Cakes – Haydel’s Bakery
DJ (Dallas based) – Gus Garza

This was the first time we have had the opportunity to photograph a Second Line walking through the French quarter – LOVED IT!! And so very Nawlins!

Now on to the reception venue, the Louisiana Swamp at the Audubon Zoo – who wouldn’t want to party amidst the alligators?

Another New Orleans must – the charm pull..

And what could be better for the Groom’s Cake than the famous King’s Cake from Haydel’s Bakery

I don’t remember what song was playing, but I’d be willing to bet that it was either Journey’s or Bon Jovi – they get the best air guitar and lip syncing at most weddings.

Another successful Star-Telegram Bridal show has come and gone and we are tremendously grateful for everyone who came by to see us!  Our booth was pretty busy  most of the day so if you didn’t have a chance to talk to us, drop us an email and we will tell you all about our show specials!

We would also like to congratulate Jessica who is getting married in Fort Worth next July, she has won a free engagement session!

Bri & Jonathan’s ceremony at Marty Leonard Chapel was stunning, as all ceremonies there are, and it was followed by an equally unique reception at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. The theme was cherry blossoms, and even though we had to wait until 5 days before the wedding to catch the cherry blossoms for Bri’s bridal session (thanks to an unusually cold winter), we got it done and had a photo on display at her wedding!  After a touching ceremony with a musical serenade, Bri & Jonathan exited through a sabre arch with sailors from the Ft Worth Naval Air Station. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History was a beautiful backdrop for Bri & Jonathan’s reception and we even had a chance to do a late evening photo shoot with the Paluxysaurus jonesi in the DinoLab.  Could it get much better than that?

Thank you to everyone who headed out to the Will Rogers Center this past Sunday for the Star-Telegram Bridal Show – we had a great time meeting everyone who stopped by our booth! We were pretty busy most of the day so if you came by but didn’t have a chance to talk to us, send us an email and we will tell you about our show specials!

We would also like to congratulate Alycia who is getting married in September, she has won a free engagement session !

Tracy and Clint met at a swing dance class and the rest is history.  We had an amazing engagement shoot at the famous Gruene Hall where Clint & Tracy got to try out a few moves before the Hall opened – I don’t know who had more fun, us or them.

Tracy & Clint’s wedding day started with a beautiful ceremony at St John the Apostle in Richland Hills.  The stained glass windows were the perfect backdrop for some photos of Tracy and her bridesmaids, while the guys headed outside to do some photos (and managed to get locked out, but that is another story!)

After a short ride in a friend’s 1965 Chevy Impala, Tracy & Clint arrived at Chateau at Forest Park for their reception.  They chose this location specifically for their huge, wood dance floor and it turned out to be absolutely perfect for their group of swing dancers.  After a fabulous first dance, the floor was opened up for what turned out to be one of the longest “dollar dances” we have ever seen.  We lost count of how many songs they went through because people kept getting back in line to take yet another spin around the dance floor with the happy couple.  The photo was a huge hit as always, and it was fun to watch this huge group photo bomb Tracy & Clint’s last photo booth shot. As the sun started to set, they were whisked away again in that classic Chevy Impala.
