The day Laura & Eric got married was absolutely perfect – the weather was not too hot yet not too cool for their outdoor ceremony, the sun was shining brightly, and we even had some pretty sunset colors so we could take advantage of the rooftop view of downtown Dallas.  All in all, it was the perfect start for Laura & Eric’s life together and they are indeed perfect for each other.

And how can you go wrong with a bundt cake and cupcakes for a wedding cake?

After all the formalities were through, the dance floor went crazy – mostly thanks to Laura’s brothers!  I think we had almost as much fun photographing them as they had dancing.

It has been ages since we did a Photo Booth Fun post and since I never got around to blogging Holly & Blake’s wedding or Trash the Dress sessions from last fall, theirs is the first one up!  Remember how hot it was last summer?  And then remember how it suddenly started raining one Saturday night in October?  October 8th right around 7PM?  Yes, that is the exact moment we headed outside after Holly & Blake’s ceremony to do some photos in front of First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, and we were greeted with giant rain drops.  Fortunately, Holly was a totally laid back bride with a fantastic sense of humor, so rain pouring down on their reception on the rooftop of Reata didn’t phase her one bit – she just danced in the rain.

Due to the impending rain we weren’t able to set the photo booth up in the nice, spacious (uncovered) area it was supposed to go so squeezed it into the entryway of the dome.  Fortunately, the tight quarters didn’t seem to bother any of Holly & Blake’s guests :).

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by to see us at last weekend’s Bridal Show at the Gaylord Texan!  We had a great turnout and it is always so much fun to meet so many excited brides (and grooms and moms :)).  If we didn’t have a chance to talk to you at the show please feel free to drop us a email so we can chat about your wedding.  We also had a Show Special on our photobooth – it is available at a very discounted price when it is added on to any of our wedding photography packages – call or email for details!

Congratulations goes out to Sarah of Keller who is getting married in the spring of 2013 – she has won a free Engagement Session!  We would also like to say thanks to our former bride, Kerry, who came out to help us and our friends, Dan & John who helped us pack everything up when it was all over.

Rose & Scotts “official” wedding was on a beautiful day in May – the weather was perfect, the sun was shining just enough, and Rose was even more nervous than she was at their first ceremony a year earlier.  As wedding photographers, it was wonderful for us to see how much Rose & Scotts love had grown over the year and that they each clearly still get excited when the other walks into the room.  After an emotional First Look and ceremony at Marty Leonard Chapel we had some fun with the bridal party then headed over to The Modern for the reception where Rose unveiled her surprise for Scott – a sticky toffee pudding cake in the shape of a Porsche (in honor of Scott’s favorite British dessert and his car racing hobby).

Rose & Scott were chosen to be a Feature Wedding in this month’s Bridal Section in the Star Telegram so you can read all about their love story (and their wedding) at:

Rose and Scott have an interesting story – they have been married twice!  Shortly after Scott proposed they started planning their dream wedding, and then Scott’s company threw them for a loop.  He was being transferred to England for a year, but Rose couldn’t go with him unless they were married.  So, on a beautiful Saturday morning in April 2011 we met up with them, their parents and their pastor at the Japanese Garden to photograph their “elopement” ceremony.

Well, it was meant to be a bit of a secret so we never breathed a word of it to anyone, but apparently the news got out over the course of the year so we are excited to finally be able to show off some of their photos – especially 2 of our favorite infrared photos.  Fast forward to a year later, and we were back at Marty Leonard Chapel to photograph Rose’s bridals for their upcoming “official” wedding.  Btw, LOVE Marty Leonard Chapel – for anyone looking for a venue for their ceremony, it is stunningly beautiful and almost impossible to take a bad photo there :).

We thought we would share a few photos from Rose & Scott’s first ceremony and Rose’s Bridal before we post the rest of their wedding – you can also read their Love Story in this month’s Bridal Section of the Star-Telegram.  Enjoy!

This is a long post, but I couldn’t decide if I should blog Caroline & Taylor’s wedding or Caroline’s Bridals, so I decided that since I can’t seem to find time to blog anything lately, I would do both in one big blog post!

Caroline & Taylor are one of those sweet, wonderful couples who are just excited to be together and everyone around them can see it.  I know that describes most of our couples, but Taylor truly had one of the biggest smiles we have seen from a groom on his wedding day.  As I think back to their wedding day there are many things that stand out to me, but the one thing that tops the list is the abundance of smiles and laughter.  We have loved getting to know Caroline & Taylor and their families over the past year and I know they have a wonderful life ahead of them – a life full of big smiles, love and laughter.
