I kind of fell off the blogging bandwagon several years ago but I have decided to give it another go.  I’m starting off with a Throwback Thursday post of Beth & Steve’s gorgeous outdoor wedding a few years ago.  And I mean ALL outdoors. In June. It was warm and their poor cake started to melt before we all got to the reception, but to look at the two of them you’d never know.  These images still make me smile :). Ceremony at the Fuller Garden at the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens and reception at Los Vaqueros Stockyards.

“I was visiting DC on a business trip and wanted to visit Arlington Cemetery where some of the most famous and brave Americans are buried. Visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial was important to me because my father is a Vietnam Veteran. I wanted to take a photo of the wall from a perspective I had never seen before. I set the focus on my lens at about 2’, then rested my camera against the wall and took the photo. Just by happenstance, another visitor walked up and put their hand on the wall which made for a very moving and unique image. I don’t remember what year this was but it was shot in the 90s on film and is still one of my all time favorite photos I have taken.” – Bill Vahrenkamp

It seems lately that whenever we plan a portrait session around sunset, we end up with a boring dull sky with no color and no clouds. Well, last weekend the odds were in our favor – we had an amazing sunset at the Dallas Arboretum for Anika & Frank’s sunset wedding!

Congratulations to Meredith & Joe’s who were married in a beautiful sunset ceremony on Saturday!
